Solomon himself would record this principle in one of his proverbs: ‘If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination’ (Prov. 28:9). True turning from sin has three aspects: past, present and future. Turning from sin in the past will be shown by real sadness, regretting what happened. Present turning from sin is an actual renouncing of (or rejecting) the particular sin in question with all of our being; not at some other time,
